
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She plays as an attacker and captain for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the top division of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from 2018 to 2020. [8][9] Morgan was drafted by the Western New York Flash at number one in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her studies at Berkeley in the early part of the year. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. In the team, she made her debut in professional football and assisted the team in winning the league championship. Morgan 22, then 22 years old, was the youngest national player at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 and finished second. Morgan scored the game-winning goal in the semi-final match against Canada in the semi-final game during the 2012 London Olympics. Her 2012 ended with 21 goals and 28 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman who scored both 20 and 20 goals. It made her the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to hit 20 goals in a season. Following her selection as the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year Morgan was also an FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan helped the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. Morgan was selected to the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
